Delhi Police on Tuesday clarified that permission for the INDIA bloc rally scheduled to be held at Ramlila Maidan on November 1 has not been withdrawn. The police said a No Objection Certificate(NOC) had been issued to the Congress from the law and order perspective.
Around 3,500 police personnel will be deployed for security at the venue, while more than 200 CCTV cameras will be installed to monitor the gathering. The venue has been divided into 14 zones to manage the crowd, with 10 companies of reserve forces also being deployed.
According to the report sent to Congress leader Manish Chaturvedi, the NOC is subject to approval from the department that owns the land and compliance with specified conditions.
Key Conditions for the Rally
- The rally must conclude by 5 pm on November 1. No participant will be allowed to stay overnight at Ramlila Maidan before or after the event.
- Organisers must ensure peaceful conduct, prevent violence and disorder, cooperate with the police, and ensure vehicles are parked only at designated locations.
- Organisers must submit lists of invitees and volunteers, a minute-by-minute programme schedule, and bus registration numbers. No procession or march to any location outside Ramlila Maidan will be permitted.
Police officials said the 14 zones would be supervised by Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), with senior officers overseeing two zones. Authorities are coordinating with organisers and traffic police to ensure security and smooth traffic management. Violations of the conditions could invite legal action or cancellation of permission.
