The Section 1 girls soccer playoffs are underway, running Oct. 23 until the section finals next weekend at Arlington High School next week. The winners there will advance to the state tournament.
Last year, Albertus Magnus and Rye won state titles in Class AA and A, respectively. Tuckahoe made it to the Class C state final for the first time in program history, North Rockland got to the Class AAA regional final, and Blind Brook narrowly lost in overtime of the Class B subregional. Each of those teams is in the running against, and some of them are still heavy favorites, but there are plenty of other teams capable of making deep postseason runs.
