Cata Coll, between the posts for a Barça side that won it all
Cata Coll has been named goalkeeper of the season after a perfect campaign with FC Barcelona, who won the league, the Copa de la Reina, the Spanish Super Cup and the Champions League. Keeping goal for Europe's most dominant team presents a unique challenge: there are many games with little to do, but no room for error when called upon.
The Spanish goalkeeper finished third in the award's inaugural edition and has now taken the final step to the top. Her selection recognises her concentration, skill with her feet and ability to support a team that plays with a very high defensive line. The award comes at a ceremony where Barça have eleven nominations, with Coll a key figure in that success.
