Lamine Yamal has won the Kopa Trophy for the third consecutive year, further strengthening his position among the leading young talents in world football.
The Barcelona winger received the award recognising the best player under the age of 21, adding another individual honour to an already remarkable career at just 19.
The latest triumph continues Barcelona’s strong connection with the Kopa Trophy, with Yamal once again emerging as its standout winner.
However, the Spain international used the occasion to highlight the achievements of a teammate who was also nominated for the prestigious award.
Yamal makes Kopa Trophy history with third straight win
Yamal’s third consecutive Kopa Trophy shows the consistency of his performances at Barcelona and international level.
Despite his age, the winger has already established himself as a key figure for club and country, collecting major honours while continuing to develop his game.
His achievements include consecutive Liga and Spanish Super Cup titles with Barcelona, along with a World Cup triumph with Spain.
The latest individual recognition adds to his growing collection of accolades and reinforces his status as one of football’s most closely watched young players.

Rather than focusing solely on his own achievement, Yamal said he wished Barcelona teammate Pau Cubarsí had received the award instead.

“I wish Cubarsi, my teammate, were here. This award should have been for him. I wish he had won it,” Yamal said.

Yamal also acknowledged the support he has received from Barcelona and the Spanish national team, while making clear that his latest success would not change his ambitions.
“I want to thank my club and my national team. I have to keep working to win team and individual titles like this one,” he said.
Asked whether the Kopa Trophy was the award he had hoped to receive that night, Yamal again put Cubarsí forward.
“I would have liked this one to go to Cubarsi,” he concluded.
