Sam Houston's run of four straight weeknight football games ends in the birthplace of Route 66.
The Bearkats (1-6, 0-3 Conference USA) visit Missouri State (2-5, 1-2) on Tuesday night looking to halt a four-game losing streak.
Sam Houston's offense awoke last week with 24 points after being held to a field goal in successive weeks, but the Bearkats' run defense was gashed for 203 yards while they only rushed for 20 yards on 11 carries.
The all-time series is tied 1-1 and Tuesday's game is the first between the teams since 2006, when Sam Houston won 20-17 in Springfield, Mo., a year after their matchup in Huntsville was canceled because of Hurricane Rita.
