Post-secondary education in Alberta isn’t limited to years in the classrooms at huge universities.
If you’re a recent high school graduate, a working adult looking to change careers, or just someone who doesn’t want to spend a ton of time in school before entering the workforce, you can get an educational experience that suits your needs at Robertson College.
Robertson College first opened its doors in Alberta in 1911 and has operated with the goal of getting its students hired ever since. Today, Robertson has more than 30 online, hybrid, and on-campus diploma programs, microcourses, and an English Language Program, and supports over 450 graduates a year, with locations in Calgary, Edmonton, and Winnipeg.
Its schools include the School of Business and Technology, School of Community Services, and School of Health.
Start when you’re ready

Robertson College
What makes Robertson especially unique is that many of its programs have monthly start dates. While many universities have strict application and start deadlines, Robertson allows students flexibility in deciding when it’s time to start their post-secondary journey.
In fact, several programs have start dates coming up in November, and it isn’t too late to apply.
Business-minded applicants might be interested in the Accounting & Payroll Administrator, Administrative Office Assistant, or Human Resources Coordinator diploma programs. Or maybe you’re all about doing meaningful work with other people, in which case the Community Support Worker, or Early Learning and Childcare programs could be a great fit.
Meanwhile, the English Language diploma is perfect for anyone who wants to build reading, writing, and speaking skills for study, work, and everyday life, and can be a direct path to employment.
If you’re not sure about committing to a full diploma program, you could try the microcourse. This is fully online, and students can take it at their own pace. With some of them, you can even transfer to certain diploma later — including Anatomy & Physiology, Bookkeeping, Child Development 1, Event Management, and more.
And that’s only a small sampling of the programs available for you to start this fall. With diploma programs like Health Care Aide, Legal Assistant, Network Security Technician, Pharmacy Assistant, Recreation Coordinator, Veterinary Assistant, and Hospitality, there really is something for every interest and skill set.
Support where you need it

Robertson College
You’ll notice that Robertson’s course offerings are all related to fields with high rates of hireability. Plus, all courses have practicum placements so that students can transition well into the workforce.
Plus, the Robertson Workforce team is in your corner to provide career support from day one, rather than at the last minute before graduation. Every Robertson student is assigned a workforce team member specific to their program to help with things like job searching, interview preparation, employer connections, and more.
Support doesn’t end with graduation, either. There’s no end date on career services, which means you can receive workforce support for as long as you need it.
Robertson is the place to go for career-focused programs that can help you build practical skills and move toward meaningful work in one year or less.
