Jakarta (ANTARA) - Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara outlined five foundational pillars necessary to transition Indonesia into a high-income, developed nation during the Danantara Technology Innovation Investment Forum 2026 on Monday.
Speaking in Jakarta, Nazara emphasized that public spending and non-state investments must align toward enhancing human potential, infrastructure, governance, structural frameworks, and overall economic stability.
“Everything we do from the State Budget (APBN) and non-APBN, rallying the strength of society, education, and health, is that the quality of human resources must be improved,” Nazara stated.
The minister identified the first two priorities as accelerating human capital development—primarily through education and healthcare—and improving physical infrastructure through blended public and private financing mechanisms.
Nazara highlighted institutional reform as the third critical component, urging state and private entities to adopt robust governance practices alongside environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards to maintain agility.
The fourth and fifth pillars focus on continuous structural reform to streamline inter-agency workflows and business processes, alongside preserving social and macroeconomic stability as a essential foundation for long-term growth.
