Prophet Uebert Angel raised eyebrows on Sunday, 25 October 2026, when he told his congregation he intends to personally settle part of the debts left behind by Sir Wicknell Chivayo, who reportedly has a $5 million unpaid bill.
According to media reports, the late Zimbabwean businessman has 15 unpaid car gifts hanging in the balance.
Angel's pledge has sparked a wave of online reaction, with many questioning why the made such an announcement publicly rather than handling it privately. Others raised deeper concerns about the legacy of Chivayo himself.
Social media user SnowballOfficial shared a clip on his X account on Sunday, 25 October 2026, of Angel vowing to settle some of Chivayo's debts.

"Why can't he pay quietly and not tell people what to do? He has no right to tell people to keep quiet. Who is he?"
@Advance40047256 echoed a similar sentiment:
"He don't tell people to keep quiet while he is talking ngatange iye kunyarara"
@tsotsipanonaka questioned the prophet's credibility differently, asking:
"Why would anyone need to prove that they were owed? Why can't he prophesy?"
Not everyone focused solely on Angel's conduct. @proftheroi aimed at the broader culture surrounding Chivayo's memory, writing:
"Wicknail has replaced the Bible in some of these churches; why should we be doing sermons defending him and explaining him? The masses are there for Christ"
@FumaiGavin raised more serious historical allegations, writing:
"Let Prophet Ubert be told straight: Deals should never happen that you deal with a Contractor of Killers and contract killing, and General Solomon Mujuru becomes killed. 😲😲😲 A businessman can't have all those Generals killed, and we hear it was a deal as usual 😡😡😡😡"
@clasicahope kept it brief but pointed:
"2million nemari dzenyu .apa mukuuchira maoko .."
