The Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) has ordered the temporary closure of all major tourist attractions sites under its management across Visakhapatnam and its vicinity on Tuesday and Wednesday (October 27 and 28) in view of the threat posed by Cyclone Arnab.
According to a press release issued on Monday, top tourist destinations including Kailasagiri, Thotlakonda heritage site, VMRDA City Central Park, and VMRDA Park along the RK Beach line will remain closed to visitors for two days.
Additionally, key museum hubs along Beach Road—including the INS Kursura Submarine Museum, the TU-142 Aircraft Museum, the Sea Harrier Museum, and the Helicopter Museum—will also suspend visitor access during this period.
VMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner Ketan Garg stated that the precautionary decision was taken to ensure the safety and security of tourists, citizens, and staff in light of adverse weather conditions expected during the cyclone’s passage.
Visitors and tourists have been advised to plan their itineraries accordingly and stay indoors as public safety measures take effect across the coastal belt.
