Instagram has expanded its TV app to Apple TV, bringing Reels, live streams, and other video content to another big-screen platform. The move gives users another way to watch Instagram videos beyond their phones and tablets.
The company first began testing a TV-focused version of Instagram in December last year. The app was designed to make short videos and other content easier to watch on larger screens. In June, Instagram added several new features to the app, which already supports Amazon Fire TV, Samsung Smart TVs, and Google TV.

However, Meta has made little announcement about the Apple TV launch. When Instagram’s App Store listing added Apple TV to its list of supported platforms. Archived versions of the listing from October 18 mentioned only iPhone and iPad compatibility.
The expansion could play a bigger role in Instagram’s video strategy. The company is increasingly focused on longer-form and episodic content as microdramas gain popularity. Bringing Instagram to more television platforms could help Meta reach viewers who prefer watching videos on a larger screen.
