Riyadh – The Saudi Ministry of Defense announced on Monday the execution of a military operation against targets belonging to the Houthi militias, designated as a terrorist organization, in Yemen. The operation included the destruction of five tunnels used for storing ballistic missiles, four launch platforms, and a missile depot.
Ministry spokesman Major General Turki al-Maliki stated that the Joint Forces Command of the Coalition carried out the operation to neutralize sources of threat in response to repeated attacks using ballistic missiles and drones.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, al-Maliki explained that the operation also focused on cutting off the militias' supply lines between areas under their control.
He added that it included targeting fortifications, gatherings of militia members, and their military equipment along the front lines inside Yemen.
The spokesman emphasized that the operation comes within the framework of self-defense and the protection of the Kingdom's territory, its citizens, and residents, and in response to attempts to target civilians and civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and Yemen.
The published information did not specify the targeted locations or provide any casualty figures.
