The chairman, Kebbi APC Elders Forum, Sani Hukuma Zauro Zannan Gwandu, Monday, called on the political class, especially the opposition, to stop politics of hatred and vilification of leaders.
While interacting with journalists at Zauro, Zannan was critical about the foul language used by opposition parties in the course of campaigning to gain cheap political goals.
“The manner of uncouth remarks on the APC-led government at federal and state levels by the opposition is unglamorous, it smacks of blackmail.
“Politicians should concentrate on informing the electorates about their policies and manifesto to move the country forward.
“The penchant of present opposition members who are professional blackmailers and mud slingers is purposely to soil the popularity of those at the helm of affairs.
“In Kebbi, the opposition members must take cognisance of the fact that Governor Nasir Idris has performed marvelously and remarkably to earn the confidence of the populace for a second tenure in 2027.
“Whatever the dark patches they may try to paint him is a nullity and inconsequential, such action only adds to his formidability to do more in uplifting the standard of living of the people,” the APC elder said.
