The longest-tenured Milwaukee Brewers player got the nod to end Game 3 of the World Series.
Brandon Woodruff, who hasn’t pitched since July 4, 2026, sealed the Brewers’ 10-1 Game 3 win.
The two-time All-Star has been a member of the Brewers since 2017 and coincidently, made his debut at Tropicana Field versus the Rays. Woodruff placed fifth in Cy Young award voting in 2021.
After missing the entire 2024 season due to shoulder surgery, Woodruff avoided another major surgery in July, with the hope of pitching in 2026.
On October 23, 2026, Woodruff was named to the World Series roster, foreshadowing his availability in this series.

With the Brewers up 10-0 heading into the bottom of the ninth inning, Brewers manager Pat Murphy saw it as the perfect opportunity to reintroduce Woodruff.
