Alberto Aquilani and Gennaro Gattuso have named their strongest available XIs as Sassuolo host the league-leading Lazio in Serie A at 17.30 GMT on Wednesday evening.
Hosts Sassuolo come into tonight’s game ranked 14th in the Serie A table with eight points to their name after eight league matches of the 2026-27 season. They are without a win across their last six league fixtures and have lost their last two, both away from home against Frosinone and Como.
Lazio are level with Inter at the top of the Serie A standings after eight games with seven wins and one draw on their record. They are one of four teams still unbeaten after eight Serie A matches, the first time this has happened in the history of the division.
Gennaro Gattuso’s side are currently on a four-game winning streak with Serie A victories against Venezia, Monza, Juventus and Parma behind them.
Today’s fixture is one of three Serie A games being played on Tuesday night. A full round of Serie A fixtures is in store this midweek, with seven more matches on the schedule on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

Alberto Aquilani has made several alterations to the Sassuolo side that lost to Como over the weekend, with Simone Cinquegrano and Josh Doig returning at full-back, Luca Lipani and Kristjan Thorstvedt in midfield, and Sebastiano Esposito and Armand Lauriente in the front three. The Neroverdi are at full-strength against Lazio this evening.
Unsurprisingly, Gattuso has done his best to keep his winning team together, but has made one alteration at centre-back with Diego Leite replacing Oliver Provstgaard.
Kick-off is due at 17.30 GMT.
