THE Toll Regulatory Board said it approved the second-tranche toll rates for the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) R1 Extension.
Starting Oct. 28, motorists using the CAVITEX R1 extension will pay P103 for Class 1, P207 for Class 2, and P310 for Class 3 vehicles.
The seven-kilometer CAVITEX R1 Extension Expressway covers the Zapote, Las Piñas to Kawit, Cavite segment.
The approved toll rates stem from the 2020 and 2023 toll petitions filed by CAVITEX Infrastructure Corp. and the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA), incorporating the periodic toll adjustments scheduled for implementation in 2021 and 2024, respectively.
Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC), the tollways arm of the Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC), said the approved toll adjustments were divided into two tranches to help cushion the impact on motorists.
The first tranche was implemented in October 2025.
CAVITEX R1 Expressway Extension serves more than 50,000 motorists daily. The toll road network links Metro Manila to Cavite and other parts of Southern Luzon.
The project is a joint venture of MPTC subsidiary Cavitex Infrastructure Corp. and the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA). It is operated by PRA wholly owned subsidiary PEA Tollway Corp. (PEATC).
The expressway also expedites travel in the Southern Luzon corridor to Metro Manila because CAVITEX will be connected to Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) via the CAVITEX-CALAX Link (CCLink).
Meanwhile, MPTC said that its ABANTE program, which provides toll relief for public utility vehicle operators, will be reactivated on Oct. 28.
It said that all ABANTE-accredited traditional and modern jeepneys, UV Express units, and buses with authorized routes using the CAVITEX R1 Expressway Extension will be eligible for toll rebates.
MPTC said rebates for vehicles transporting agricultural products will remain in place until Nov. 30.
“CAVITEX Infrastructure Corp. and PRA, and its operator PEATC reaffirm their commitment to providing infrastructure that strengthens connectivity and economic activity across Southern Luzon,” it said.
