Bitcoin ETFs opened the week with $110.34 million in net inflows, though the entire gain came through Blackrock’s IBIT. Ether funds returned to sizable outflows, while zcash and NEAR remained the only smaller categories to attract fresh capital.
Key Takeaways
- Bitcoin ETFs drew $110.34M on Monday, entirely through Blackrock’s IBIT.
- Ether lost $88.58M, as Solana, HYPE, and XRP also saw outflows.
- Broader crypto demand now depends on bitcoin buying spreading beyond IBIT and ether stabilizing.
Bitcoin ETFs Add $110M as Ether Funds Lose $89M
The week began with a familiar split in institutional positioning.
Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) drew $110.34 million on Monday, with every dollar flowing into Blackrock’s IBIT. No other bitcoin fund recorded meaningful activity. Trading value reached $1.86 billion, while net assets closed at $102.84 billion.
The inflow keeps bitcoin on firmer footing after last week’s late-session volatility. Yet the concentration matters. Last week showed that broad-based buying across several issuers tends to offer a stronger signal than a move carried by a single fund.
Monday’s result points to continued institutional demand as bitcoin’s price remains below $80,000, though the breadth of that demand remains narrow.
Ether Slips Back Into Familiar Territory
Ether ETFs returned to outflows with an $88.58 million withdrawal, quickly reversing Friday’s modest positive session.
Blackrock’s ETHA lost $104.71 million, while Fidelity’s FETH attracted $16.13 million. Trading activity totaled $506.23 million, with net assets closing at $14.07 billion.
The pattern reinforces ether’s weaker institutional position relative to bitcoin.
Last week, ether ETFs remained under pressure even as bitcoin funds finished positive. Monday extended that divergence, as investors continue to find selective entry points in ether, while the larger flow direction remains dominated by redemptions.
Solana and HYPE Remain Vulnerable
Solana ETFs lost another $8.23 million.
Bitwise’s BSOL accounted for $7.22 million of the decline, while Grayscale’s GSOL shed $1.83 million. Morgan Stanley’s MSOL attracted $817,710, softening the overall loss.
Trading activity reached $56.55 million, while net assets fell to $1.55 billion.
The weakness is significant because solana has struggled to rebuild momentum after its long inflow streak ended earlier this month. Repeated withdrawals now suggest institutional appetite for higher-beta exposure remains cautious.
HYPE ETFs also lost $4.30 million, while XRP funds posted $3.61 million in net outflows. That keeps Monday’s broader crypto ETF market tilted toward risk reduction outside bitcoin.
Zcash and NEAR Keep Finding Buyers
Zcash continued to stand apart.
Grayscale’s ZCSH attracted $1.96 million, extending its inflow streak to five consecutive sessions. Net assets closed at $710.11 million.
NEAR ETFs also stayed positive, adding $1.40 million through Bitwise’s NRR. Net assets finished at $80.05 million.
The contrast is becoming increasingly clear.
Bitcoin continues to attract capital, though heavily through IBIT. Ether remains caught in a recurring redemption cycle. Solana and HYPE are still struggling to regain institutional momentum. Zcash and NEAR, meanwhile, have developed into smaller but more consistent pockets of demand.
That sets up an important test for the rest of the week. If bitcoin buying broadens beyond IBIT and ether can stabilize, institutional risk appetite may be improving. If flows remain concentrated while altcoin redemptions deepen, Monday’s data will look more like selective positioning than a broader return to crypto exposure.
