A65-year-old elderly man allegedly died of electrocution after coming into contact with live electrical wires that had snapped and fallen into the water following the impact of cyclone Arnab at Mangalapalem under Duvvada police station limits in the city on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as A. Pinni Devudu.
According to police sources, the elderly man is suspected to have come in contact with the live wires while walking through water, reportedly unaware of the danger posed by the snapped power lines.
On receiving information about the incident, Duvvada police reached the spot and shifted his body to the King George Hospital (KGH) in Visakhapatnam for post-mortem.
