San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) is dealing with a mild hamstring strain, head coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday, Oct. 26.
"We're pretty optimistic," Shanahan said. The team feels that McCaffrey will be fine for the Week 9 game after the team's bye in Week 8.

Why it Matters: Well, the good news is that the bye seems to come at the proper time for CMC, as fantasy managers were going to without his services in Week 8 anyway. He'll have two full weeks to heal, and hopefully the injury is as minor as indicated. However, with McCaffey's propensity for injury, and history of slow recovery from seemingly minor ailments, it gets the antennae up for fantasy managers. Hope that this calms down after two weeks of rest.
