Ark Invest bought 65,615 shares of Circle Internet Group, a purchase worth $5.2 million.
The buy lands during a busy stretch for Circle. The company recently posted strong first-quarter numbers, saw its stock jump on the news, and opened a token presale for its new blockchain, all in short order.
The details behind Ark’s Circle position
The 65,615-share purchase is not Ark’s only recent move in the stock. On May 11, 2026, the firm acquired 41,904 Circle shares valued at approximately $5.5 million, based on the research reviewed for this article.
That May 11 trade was Ark’s first Circle purchase since March 24, 2026. In other words, the firm paused for about seven weeks, then started buying again.
Timing was not subtle. The May 11 buy coincided with Circle’s Q1 2026 earnings release, which sent shares up 15.91% to close at $131.76 that day.
Ark has traded Circle shares multiple times throughout 2026. Many of those moves are tied to rebalancing, guided by a rule that no single holding should exceed roughly 10% of a fund.
Around the time of the May 11 purchase, Circle ranked as the sixth-largest holding in the ARKK ETF, with a weighting of 4.6%.
What Circle reported, and why Ark may care
Circle’s first-quarter results gave investors something concrete to chew on. The company reported $694 million in revenue for Q1 2026, a 20% increase from the same period a year earlier.
The more telling number may be USDC itself. Circulation of the stablecoin climbed 28% year-over-year to $77 billion.
For readers newer to the space, a stablecoin is a digital token designed to hold a steady value, usually pegged to the US dollar. Circle issues USDC and earns money largely from the reserves backing it, so more USDC in circulation tends to mean a bigger business.
The Arc blockchain and the ARC presale
Earnings were not the only news Circle delivered on May 11. The company also announced a $222 million presale of its ARC token, tied to its newly launched Arc blockchain.
The presale reached a fully diluted valuation of $3 billion.
The backer list was not exactly a garage startup lineup. a16z crypto and BlackRock both participated.
Background: Circle’s path to public markets
Circle went public on the New York Stock Exchange in June 2025 under the ticker CRCL. The IPO drew significant investor interest, giving public-market investors a direct way to bet on stablecoin adoption.
Before that listing, getting exposure to the stablecoin business usually meant holding tokens or investing privately. A listed equity changed the math for funds like Ark, which operate within the structure of ETFs.
Since then, Circle has become a regular fixture in Ark’s trade disclosures. The firm’s back-and-forth activity reflects both its interest in the company and its discipline around position sizing.
What this means for investors
The research reviewed suggests Ark’s purchase may signal growing institutional confidence in the stablecoin sector. Circle’s Q1 numbers could also support broader investor sentiment around USDC demand.
For Ark watchers, the thing to track is the weighting. At 4.6% of ARKK around the May 11 purchase, Circle sits well below the roughly 10% cap, which gives Ark room to keep adding if its conviction holds.
