Strategy paused its Bitcoin buying last week ahead of the Federal Reserve’s upcoming interest rate decision, leaving its holdings unchanged after weeks of consecutive purchases, according to a new SEC disclosure.
Despite taking a break from its recent accumulation, the company continues to lead corporate Bitcoin holders with a stash of 848,517 BTC valued at about $68 billion.
The company bought back more than 2 million shares of its variable-rate STRC preferred stock for about $205 million during the period. It did not repurchase shares of its STRF, STRK or STRD preferred stocks or its MSTR common stock. Strategy said approximately $957 million remained available for preferred stock repurchases and $1 billion for MSTR buybacks as of Oct. 25.
The STRC repurchases were funded with USD Cash, which fell to $242 million as of Oct. 25. Strategy’s USD Reserve, intended to support preferred stock dividends and debt interest payments, stood at $4.8 billion.
