By Zoila Palma: Today, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology issued a statement saying that it acknowledges concerns regarding responsiveness to telephone and email enquiries directed to the Scholarships and Grants Unit.
The Ministry noted that for this fiscal year, from April to 23rd October 2026, the Ministry has already disbursed BZ$8,685,055.93 in financial assistance, benefiting 7,961 students across preschool and primary, secondary, TVET, ACE and tertiary levels, at foreign and local institutions.
The Ministry explained that the Unit continues to work diligently to process outstanding applications and payments.
“The application portal closed on Friday, 9th October 2026 to allow for the continued processing and payment of applications for this semester. The portal will reopen on 1st December 2026 for applications for Semester Two of the Academic Year 2026/27,” the Ministry said.
