Muscat: The 5th edition of Oman Science Festival will kick off on 2 November 2026.
The Festival is organised by the Ministry of Education under the theme "Science is Our Compass". The 8-day event seeks to promote scientific literacy through interactive methods that stimulate curiosity and innovative thinking.
The event underlines the importance of science and technology, with special emphasis on encouraging innovation and research. The festival’s events were unveiled at a press conference held by the Ministry of Education in Muscat on Tuesday.
In this new edition, the festival aims to achieve a set of academic and developmental goals, notably nurturing a scientific culture, inspiring a spirit of innovation and keeping pace with rapid technological advancements.
The festival also strives to instill a passion for science by utilising interactive approaches that spark curiosity and develop students' research skills. It encourages the participants to convert knowledge into innovative solutions that tackle contemporary challenges.
Besides keeping up with technological developments and digital transformation, the festival aims to strengthen institutional partnerships and facilitate the exchange of expertise among educational institutions, research parties and industrial sectors, thereby fostering integrated efforts and expanding scopes for cooperation in the fields of science, innovation and sustainable development.
This year, the festival targets a large audience, including students in schools and universities, educators, parents, scientists and researchers.
