Head coach of Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, Hakeem Busari, has declared his determination to leave an indelible footprint on the global stage as the Flamingoes target a historic outing at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. Speaking ahead of the tournament, the tactician emphasised that the pinnacle event offers both the nation and his technical crew a platform to demonstrate their quality against the world’s best.
Busari noted that his personal ambition aligns seamlessly with the team’s collective goal of bringing honour to the country, while keeping his focus strictly on tactical preparation and player development. “For me, I want to make a name; I want to make a mark for Nigeria and equally for myself,” Busari said. “As a coach, whatsoever you do, a lot of people are looking at you, but you don’t know where your career will take you. All the best is for you to just do your artistry work on the team, free your mind, do your job on the pitch.”
The Flamingoes handler acknowledged that while the squad possesses clear technical strengths, continuous refinement remains essential as the competition progresses. “At this point, we can see our strong points, but we still want to do more,” he added.
Nigeria will be aiming to build on past glories, with Busari’s side fully focused on early dominance. The coaching staff has left no stone unturned in shaping a resilient squad capable of matching tactical wits against elite global opposition. Stakeholders back home are eagerly watching every training session as anticipation builds toward the opening fixture. Discipline, physical stamina, and sharp finishing remain the core pillars of all our intensive camp preparations right now.
