Steven Pressley is “very hopeful” that on-loan Wycombe forward Bradley Fink will remain at Dundee beyond January.
The 23-year-old Swiss forward has scored four goals for the Dark Blues since joining in mid-August on a deal until the end of the season.
Asked ahead of Wednesday’s visit of Kilmarnock if he was concerned Wycombe may be tempted to invoke their break clause in the mid-season transfer window, manager Pressley said: “There’s always that worry.
“The one good thing is that he played with Wycombe prior to coming here.
“So if he hadn’t, my concern wouldn’t just be Wycombe, it would be that there would be other clubs out there looking at his situation, thinking he’s an interesting player. But that situation eradicates that.
“So it’s a conversation that we’ll have to have with Wycombe. The thing that I do know is he’s very happy here.
His parents have spent a lot of time in Scotland and I think they’re liking life here, so we’re very hopeful that he can stay.”
Pressley hailed Fink for his “amazing” impact and backed him to continue flourishing.
“He’s been very impressive, outstanding in many respects,” said the manager. “He’s a really interesting player because I sometimes think that when you bring in a player of his size, we immediately associate that with being very good in the air and being a target striker. He’s not that. He’s very different.
“He’s very good at connecting the game. He’s very quick and mobile and can run through and he’s an outstanding finisher as well, off both feet. We’re really pleased, but I want more from him. I think there’s more to come.”
