The federal government has warned Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) against concealing service failures, insisting that honest reporting remains the only path to fixing public service delivery in Nigeria.
Acting National Coordinator and CEO of the SERVICOM Office, Presidency, Mrs. Helen Lawal, stated this on Monday, at the opening of the 3rd Quarter Charter Reporting Breakfast Meeting, in Abuja.
The five-day meeting, which runs from 26th to 30th October, 2026, brings together Nodal Officers from MDAs to render accounts on their Service Charters, work plan implementation, complaint resolution and customer satisfaction surveys for the third quarter.
Represented by the Head of Operations Mrs. Ngozi Akinbodewa, Lawal described Nodal Officers as the engine room of SERVICOM, who sustain the Charter promise in their organisations despite limited recognition and resources.
“You are the engine of SERVICOM in your various MDAs. You carry the Charter into your organizations and keep the promise of quality service alive in offices where it is easy to let it slip,” she said.
She lauded Chief Executive Officers who provide leadership for Charter implementation, noting that reforms only succeed when owned from the top.
The SERVICOM boss also applauded MDAs that marked the 2026 Customer Service Week themed “The Extra Mile,” saying their sensitisation sessions and stakeholder engagements proved customer service could be a culture, not a slogan.
