On Tuesday, the Toronto Raptors announced that Kawhi Leonard will miss at least the next week of NBA action as he undergoes treatment to fix swelling in his left knee.
Leonard will be reevaluated in one week, but reports indicate that it could be a multi-week absence for the veteran forward.
Lingering injury issues have unfortunately become a staple of Leonard's NBA career. In response to Tuesday's announcement, he released a public statement addressing frustrations.
"Yeah it's always frustrating missing time. I came back to compete with this team and I'm focused on getting back to 100. Toronto, I've appreciated the love since I've been back. Returning soon," Leonard wrote on social media.
Leonard played in both of the Raptors' wins to open up the 2026-27 regular season, averaging 19.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals per game. He suddenly appeared on the injury report Sunday and was a late scratch for the team's first loss of the season against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Without Leonard, the Raptors will look to get back in the win column in their next matchup against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night.
