Kathmandu, October 27
Department of Immigration will suspend trekking permits for high-risk areas for three days from October 29 to 31, citing forecasts of heavy snowfall, snowstorms and avalanches in high-altitude and Himalayan regions.
The department has urged trekkers and foreign tourists planning to visit the affected areas to prioritise their safety and avoid trekking in restricted areas during the period.
It has also stopped issuing trekking permits for the high-risk areas, with the suspension taking effect immediately.
Trekkers who have already entered the affected regions have been advised to remain in safe locations until conditions improve.
