Even though Hungary is bidding farewell to the warm weather for now, the range of flight options remains diverse during the colder months. The winter flight schedule took effect on Sunday. More than 185 destinations are accessible from Liszt Ferenc Airport during the current winter season, including several new ones.
Compared to last year’s winter flight schedule, travelers have 10 percent more bookable seats at their disposal. This is primarily due to an increase in flight frequencies on existing, high-demand routes, as the airport operator Budapest Airport announced in a press release.
In the 2026/27 winter flight schedule, travelers to Asia will benefit from more frequent connections.
Flights from Shanghai and Beijing to Budapest operate daily, and there are three direct flights per week between Guangzhou and the Hungarian capital. The expanded schedule also makes it easier to connect to several destinations in Southeast Asia with a layover.

Flight frequencies have also been increased within Europe.
This benefits travelers planning a short vacation, a city break, or a visit to the Christmas markets.
35 percent more seats are available to Scandinavia than last winter. Wizz Air now offers four flights per week to Oslo.
Between Copenhagen and Budapest, SAS Scandinavian Airlines will operate two daily flights on several days in November and December.

Airlines are also expanding their capacity in other European markets:
There are 50 percent more seats available to Poland, 7.4 percent more to the Baltic states, and 12 percent more to Spain than in the 2025 winter flight schedule.
One of the new features of the winter flight schedule is the expansion of the route network to the United Kingdom. EasyJet is launching four new routes between Budapest and Belfast, Bristol, Liverpool, and London Southend.

The route to London Southend will be offered year-round. On the other three routes, two flights per week are scheduled between mid-November and the end of December. According to Budapest Airport, the number of routes served by EasyJet from Budapest has risen from three to eleven over the past three years.
Marsa Alam in Egypt is also a new addition to Wizz Air’s route network.
The resort is located on the west coast of the Red Sea and, in addition to its beaches, is known for its diving opportunities, diverse underwater world, and excursions into the desert.
The new flight connection allows for direct travel to the Egyptian vacation destination even during the winter months.

Passengers departing from Budapest via Dubai will have access to over 214 destinations.Continue reading
