MANILA, Philippines – Filipino-Canadian voice actor Eric Bauza, best known for voicing iconic Looney Tunes characters Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, died on Sunday, October 25. He was 46.
His family announced his death in a statement posted on Instagram on Sunday. They had referred to his passing as “sudden.”
Born in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, on December 7, 1979, Bauza grew up watching Looney Tunes and imitating its characters.
He later became one of the franchise’s defining modern voices following in the footsteps of legendary voice actor Mel Blanc.
Bauza voiced Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd, Foghorn Leghorn, and Road Runner, among other characters. He lent his voice to films like Space Jam: A New Legacy, Super Mario Bros., and King Tweeny.
His latest work before his passing was Coyote vs. Acme, which premiered in August 2026. He had voiced Wile E. Coyote in the Dave Green-directed comedy film.
In a 2021 interview with NBC News, Bauza said the appeal of Looney Tunes crossed cultural and language barriers.
“Looney Tunes transcends all languages and all cultures,” he said. “It doesn’t matter what part of the planet you’re from. You get the comedy.”
Beyond Looney Tunes, Bauza lent his voice to hundreds of projects across film, television, and video games, including The Adventures of Puss in Boots, Teen Titans Go!, Ben 10, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie. His career spanned more than 25 years, with over 400 acting credits.
He won three Children’s and Family Emmy Awards between 2022 and 2025 for his voice performance.
