Renowned VC and Bitcoin billionaire advocate Tim Draper has lauded the enigmatic Satoshi Nakamoto, creator of Bitcoin, for his optimistic spirit that dares to confront the basic tenets of global finance.
Draper made the remarks after securing the 76th position on the recently unveiled list of the top 250 most optimistic people in America by Forbes.
In a celebratory post on the accolade, the billionaire investor contended that optimism is what fuels technological advancements. Draper highlighted multiple entrepreneurs who made seemingly impossible business ideas possible.

Satoshi's optimism
Perhaps Draper's words here are directed at Satoshi Nakamoto's daring challenge to the status quo in finance by bringing a radically new way to transfer and store value.
Back in October 2008, when Satoshi Nakamoto first unveiled the Bitcoin whitepaper, financial transactions were mostly relying on some sort of trusted third parties like banks and payment service providers.
Bitcoin introduced a new concept: a decentralized peer-to-peer network that could confirm transactions without the need for a central financial entity.
In Draper's words: "trusted 3rd party in software." Yet, the original Bitcoin, in fact, aimed to remove the need for these trusted third parties by providing a system that replaces trust in institutions with trust in cryptography and decentralized consensus.
So, rather than trusting a single organization to do what was traditionally done in a centralized manner, it is the software network that handles such responsibilities without the need for trust in any particular entity.
In fact, Draper himself was one of the early significant Bitcoin investors when he spent around $29,656 worth of BTC in a U.S. government auction back in 2014 for the coins seized from the Silk Road marketplace.
To end his latest post, the VC stressed that it is the entrepreneurs, not the investors, who are responsible for technological advancements.
"All of them started with an entrepreneur painting the picture of the world they had not yet seen," he added.
