Google sends alert to Gemini user over policy violation

According to the email/notification shared by the user, Google accused the account of using Gemini in a way that could interfere with its services or infrastructure. The message reads, “Your account has been used in a way that violates Google’s policies.”

Explaining the issue, Google said, “Issue: Trying to interfere with or disrupt Google’s services or infrastructure, or attempting to use Google services for disrupting others’ infrastructure or services.”

Just got several alarming, scary, and ridiculous notifications from Google. Apparently, I used Gemini in some way that violates Google policies, and if I do it again, I may lose access to unspecified services and content. At the time of the notifications, I was driving and not using Gemini at all, to my knowledge. What did I do? I have no idea, the email doesn’t specify any details. This is scary enough for me to stop using Gemini permanently. Risking my whole account because some AI thinks some query is not kosher for whatever imaginary reason is not worth it. The user claimed the warning did not mention the specific activity that allegedly broke the rules. While Google has not restricted the account so far, the possibility of losing access to services has made the user consider stopping Gemini altogether.

Google Antigravity may be behind all this

In a follow-up post, the user said that Google Antigravity might have triggered the warning. They had installed the AI-powered coding tool for the first time the previous day to conduct a security analysis of their code.

The user first tested a prompt with Claude before trying a second version with Gemini 4 Argon through Antigravity. However, Gemini quickly ran out of available Gemini Pro credits, and the task stopped before making much progress.

In an update, the user claimed that two Google employees have reached out so far to understand the situation. For now, it remains unclear what triggered Google’s warning, and whether Antigravity was involved. With two Google employees reportedly looking into the matter, the user may soon get answers.
