Sandipan Garg, one of the accused in the death case of singer Zubeen Garg, is scheduled to appear before a fast-track court on Monday for the first time since his release from jail on October 19. He had been lodged at Nikashi Jail in Assam’s Baksa district before being released following the completion of legal formalities.
Sandipan’s release came after the Gauhati High Court granted him bail against a bond of Rs 50,000. Following the court’s order, the jail authorities completed the necessary procedures before releasing him from custody.
After his release, Sandipan said the court was examining the matter and expressed confidence that the truth would eventually emerge.
“The court is examining the matter. Truth always prevails. When people come to know the truth about September 19, brother will get justice,” he said.
Sandipan had been in custody in connection with the case surrounding Zubeen Garg’s death. The singer’s death has triggered widespread concern and demands for justice across Assam, with the investigation and related court proceedings continuing to draw public attention.
His release on bail has also prompted reactions across the state. However, the bail order allows him to remain out of custody while the legal proceedings continue and does not amount to an acquittal. The allegations against him remain subject to judicial consideration.
