Pathao, the country’s leading digital service platform, has officially launched Digital Payment on Delivery (DPOD) for Pathao Courier and Parcel deliveries. This new feature allows customers to pay for their parcels digitally through a Payment Link sent via SMS when their parcel is marked “Out for Delivery”. By selecting “Pay Now”, customers can complete payment using a bank card or mobile financial service (MFS) wallet, without needing to keep cash ready, arrange exact change, or be physically present at the delivery location. DPOD offers greater flexibility and convenience while reducing reliance on cash.
The introduction of Digital Payment on Delivery is designed to streamline the overall courier payment experience by solving common challenges associated with cash transactions. Customers no longer need to keep cash ready in advance or deal with the inconvenience of managing change when a delivery agent arrives. Even if they are not physically present at the delivery location, they can now complete their payment digitally, making the delivery experience more seamless and convenient.
This new service also offers significant advantages for Pathao Courier's extensive network of merchant partners. By offering end-consumers an additional, modern payment mode at or before delivery, merchants can provide a superior shopping experience, reducing friction and boosting customer satisfaction. The feature helps shift courier payments from an automatic cash-first mindset toward an empowered, choice-based payment behavior across Bangladesh's e-commerce ecosystem.
Pathao believes that the initiative aims to make digital payment a familiar, trusted, and habitual part of the Pathao Courier journey. By giving customers, the freedom to choose how they pay at their doorstep, Pathao continues to drive digital innovation in Bangladesh’s logistics sector while helping merchant partners deliver an elevated service experience.
