K9 Natural Brings Baked & Coated Dog Food to Canada

CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand — Natural Pet Food Group, the parent company of K9 Natural and Feline Natural, today announced the Canadian launch of K9 Natural Baked & Coated dog food. Available exclusively at the Pet Valu family of stores (Pet Valu®, Bosley’s by Pet Valu®, Paulmac’s Pets®, Tisol ® and Total Pet®) until May 2027, the launch builds on K9 Natural’s existing relationship with Pet Valu, which began in Fall of 2025.

Baked & Coated brings K9 Natural’s high-meat, high-protein nutrition philosophy to a convenient dry dog food format, offering everyday convenience without compromising on quality.

Available in three recipes, the range includes Grass-Fed Red, featuring New Zealand beef and lamb; Cage-Free Poultry, featuring chicken and turkey; and Wild Ocean Fish, featuring sustainably caught salmon, herring, cod and whitefish.

Each recipe features:

• 40% high protein – one of the highest protein levels available in dry dog food
• Highly digestible nutrition – 90%* digestibility helps dogs get more usable nutrition from every meal.
• First 8 premium animal ingredients – natural sources of omega-3 & glucosamine support skin & coat, joint and cognitive health
• Supports 6 key whole-body health functions – Maintains healthy digestive, immune, joint, skin & coat, heart and cognitive function
• Gut & microbiome support – Fiber-rich fruits and vegetables including kiwifruit, shiitake mushroom & ginger root help support optimal gut health
• Grain-Free & Clean Recipe – 100% free from unnecessary fillers, meat meals, artificial preservatives, colors or flavors

“Our mission is to make premium, science-backed pet nutrition more accessible to animal lovers,” said Michael Harrison, Western Canada Sales Executive at Natural Pet Food Group. “Bringing Baked & Coated to Pet Valu allows us to introduce the range to Canadian pet parents through a trusted retailer and give dog owners a new way to bring K9 Natural’s nutrition to the bowl.”

Baked & Coated complements K9 Natural’s existing freeze-dried and wet food offerings at Pet Valu, bringing the brand’s high-meat nutrition to the dry food aisle for the first time.

“We are committed to providing quality products to help pets live a happy and healthy life, so it was a natural fit for us to welcome K9 Natural’s Baked & Coated dog food to our shelves,” said Tamara Sakota, Chief Merchandising Officer at Pet Valu, Canada’s leading specialty retailer of pet food and supplies. “We are proud to continue growing our relationship with K9 Natural and offer devoted pet lovers in Canada another high-quality option that supports the health and wellness of their four-legged friends.”
