South Coast Railway (SCoR) commenced Vigilance Awareness Week 2026 on Monday, with the theme “Probity for Prosperity”, reaffirming its commitment to integrity, transparency, accountability and corruption-free governance.
General Manager Sandeep Mathur administered the integrity pledge to Principal Heads of Departments, senior officers and staff at the zonal headquarters in Visakhapatnam.
The observance, held in the run-up to the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on October 31, aims to promote ethical conduct among railway employees and encourage public participation in efforts to combat corruption.
Similar pledge-taking ceremonies and awareness programmes are being organised across the four divisions of South Coast Railway — Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur and Guntakal — covering railway stations, offices and other railway establishments.
The week-long observance will feature seminars, interactive sessions, essay-writing competitions, debates and drawing competitions to sensitise employees, passengers and the public to the importance of preventive vigilance and accountability in public service.
S. Kishore, a retired 1989-batch IAS officer of the West Bengal cadre, former chairman of the Staff Selection Commission and former Special Secretary in the Department of Commerce, delivered a guest lecture.
Deputy Vigilance Officer Ch. V. Karunya coordinated the programme.
