The 18-year-old man cannot be named because of a publication ban on any information that could identify the complainant, who is his half-sister.
In addition to incest, the teen faces charges of sexual interference for sexually touching a child under 16 and sexual assault.
Police allege the offences were committed July 2 at Hop! Skip! Jump!, an indoor play facility in Bayers Lake Business Park in Halifax.
The young man was arrested July 3 and arraigned before a justice of the peace the next day.
A Halifax bail court judge approved his release July 7 on a $5,000 bail order with his father as surety and conditions of house arrest worked out by a Crown attorney and a defence duty lawyer.
On Oct. 16, the teen was arrested for allegedly breaching his release conditions by having unsupervised possession of a cellphone.
The Crown opposed the teen’s release and revoked his earlier bail order.
The teen appeared in Halifax provincial court Monday via a video link from jail. Defence lawyer Kristyn Stevens got his charges adjourned until Nov. 27 so she can obtain and review the evidence.
Elizabeth Matheson is the assigned Crown on the file.
The Criminal Code defines incest as having sexual intercourse with another person who is closely related by blood, including a parent, child, sibling, grandparent or grandchild.
The maximum penalty for the offence is 14 years in prison. If the victim is under the age of 16, as in this case, a conviction also carries a mandatory minimum punishment of five years in prison.
