Ruben Loftus-Cheek will miss at least two weeks after tests confirmed a muscle tear in his left thigh.
According to MilanNews, the midfielder has damaged a medial hamstring muscle and will be reassessed in a fortnight. He will miss Wednesday’s home game against Bologna, Saturday’s derby against Inter and the Europa League clash with Ferencváros.
Loftus-Cheek came off the bench in the second half of Sunday’s 2-0 win at Udinese, but had to go off at the start of stoppage time after feeling a pull in the back of his thigh while sprinting.
Milan’s injury list continues to grow
It is another blow for Ruben Amorim, who now has eight first-team players sidelined. Adrien Rabiot, Mario Gila and Diego Moreira are racing to be fit for the derby after missing the trip to Udinese. Samuel Chukwueze, Matteo Gabbia and Alexis Saelemaekers are all out long term.
Despite the absences, Milan are unbeaten in Serie A this season and move into the derby on 18 points after back-to-back league wins.
The international break follows in mid-November, giving Loftus-Cheek a chance to return for the games that follow.
