Two teenage girls who ambushed a man and a woman at a chip shop face jail.
The 17-year-olds, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pounced on the man and woman at Blue Lagoon on Glasgow city centre’s Gordon Street on December 16, 2025.
Glasgow Sheriff Court was told that the woman and the first teenager initially had a minor verbal argument.
Prosecutor Lauren Aitchison said: “The first girl repeatedly punched [the woman] to the head and body and dragged her to the ground.
“While on the ground, the first girl continued to punch [the woman] to the head and body while others kicked her to the head.”
The man and woman exited the chip shop when the first girl set upon her again by dragging her to the ground.
Ms Aitchison said: “The first girl stamped on her head while others kicked her to the head.”
The man kicked one of the people assaulting the woman.
He was then pulled to the ground by another man, which caused his head to strike the floor.
Ms Aitchison said: “[The man] was subjected to repeated kicks and stamps to his head and body by other people, including the second girl.
“The second girl repeatedly kicked [the man] on the body as others kicked and stamped on his head and body.”
The attack was seen by off-duty police officers.
The two teenage girls made off from the scene and a warrant for their arrest was granted.
The woman was later treated for a concussion as well as bruising to her right eye. The man did not receive treatment.
The first teenage girl pleaded guilty on Tuesday to assaulting the woman to her injury and danger of life.
The second girl admitted to assaulting the man to his life in danger.
The sentence was deferred pending background reports until next month by Sheriff Owen Mullan, who continued the girls’ bail meantime.
The sheriff said: “You understand custody will be at the forefront of my mind.”
