The ceasefire in Russian-occupied Oleshky will last until 10:59 p.m. on November 1, said David Arakhamia, head of the Servant of the People faction and a member of the Ukrainian negotiating group.
“This is the biggest de-escalation since 2022. The ceasefire will last from October 27 until 10:59 p.m. on November 1. Every effort like this brings the long-awaited peace in Ukraine closer,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.
The Russian side has not commented on this information.
Russia and Ukraine agreed to the ceasefire in Oleshky to evacuate civilians and deliver humanitarian aid. The ceasefire began at 4:00 a.m. Moscow time (3:00 a.m. Kyiv time). According to the White House, U.S. first lady Melania Trump initiated the agreement.
Residents of the city of Oleshky in the Kherson region have lived under Russian occupation since 2022. The situation there has verged on humanitarian catastrophe since the fall of 2026, as constant drone attacks have left residents without food, electricity, or adequate medical care.
