Mississippi running back Kewan Lacy has a dislocated shoulder and won’t play on Saturday against Auburn.
Head coach Pete Golding announced the news on Monday. The injury also puts Lacy at risk of missing a showdown against No. 3 Georgia on Nov. 7 that’s projected to have implications for the College Football Playoff.
Lacy injured his shoulder during Sunday’s 34-27 loss to Texas. The dislocation is to the same shoulder that Lacy injured earlier this season vs. LSU that forced him to miss a Week 4 game against Florida. With Lacy sidelined, Florida rolled to a 52-28 win.
Lacy first injured his shoulder during a CFP win over Tulane in December. He returned to play in two subsequent CFP games, but required surgery in the offseason on his shoulder. He’s now re-injured that same shoulder twice.
