Italy's stance on Ukraine cannot change says Crosetto

(ANSA) - ROME, 26 OTT - Italy's stance on Ukraine cannot change, Defece Minister Guido Crosetto said Monday after Foreign Minister and Forza Italia leadder Antonio Tajani took issue with Transport Minister and League leader Matteo Salvini's call for an end to aid to Kyiv. Italy's stance on Ukraine "cannot change. It is a commitment we have made at the international, European, and NATO levels," Crosetto said, following a meeting in Paris of defense ministers from the 'E5' group. "We consider what is unfolding in Ukraine to be highly dangerous for the security of Europe; therefore, we recognize that aid to Ukraine is not merely assistance to a third nation, but an investment in our own future and our own security. "We will continue to provide such support, within the limits of our capabilities." (ANSA).
