How Alessandra Ambrosio, 45, got in shape for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show... as her trainer reveals model's strict diet and fitness regimen

Alessandra Ambrosio was arguably one of the standout supermodels at this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

The mother-of-two, 45, put on an age-defying display as she strutted her stuff down the runway, and now her personal trainer is revealing exactly what she did to get herself into such perfect shape.

Ludi Delfino, 41, has been training Ambrosio for the past two years, but she ramped up the Brazilian beauty's routine ahead of her 20th show with the lingerie giant.

'We were working out six days a week, sometimes seven,' Delfino told the Daily Mail.

'Her goal was to lose five pounds, but I think she lost around seven.'

Ambrosio did a mix of weight training, resistance training, circuit training, Pilates, and yoga to prepare for the catwalk.

To increase her results in a short amount of time, the model included supersets in her workouts, which is where you perform two different exercises back-to-back with little to no rest in between.

'I was changing her workouts a lot, but our focus was on the booty,' Delfino said.

'And with the booty comes legs and then lots of core, plus we did a lot of back exercises,' she continued.

'She doesn't love upper body exercise, but we worked a lot on her back because it's so important for posture and for holding the wings.'

Outside of exercise, Delfino stressed that a healthy diet played a huge role in getting Ambrosio in perfect shape for Victoria's Secret.

'She already eats really healthy, but she really focused on eating more protein and cutting down carbs – especially at night,' Delfino explained.

As expected, Ambrosio also cut out sugar and alcohol in the weeks leading up to the show.

'She's beautiful and she already looked amazing, but she wanted to lose those five pounds,' said Delfino.

Delfino stressed that it's still possible to look incredible in your late thirties and forties, as long as you put in the work.

'Their bodies are looking better than ever,' Delfino said of Victoria's Secret's veteran Angels.

'You just have to stay dedicated. If you eat real foods and have balance and you work out, it's really easy to stay in shape,' she continued.

'Obviously some women have it more difficult, with hormones and stuff, but once you get that on point it's not hard.'

Delfino currently trains clients in her private Beverly Hills studio or online via her online coaching program, Train With Ludi.

Ambrosio was one of the standouts at this year's annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

She modelled multiple looks on the runway, including a gigantic pair of wings draped in silver tinsel.

The mom-of-two also sent temperatures soaring in a pink bra and voluminous striped skirt.

Meanwhile Kylie Jenner, 29, stunned viewers as she made her Victoria's Secret runway debut in a gemstone-encrusted $50 million Fantasy Bra, featuring a $22 million yellow diamond centerpiece and 4,410 other natural diamonds.

It was the first time the lingerie giant put the bra on its runway since 2018, and Jenner became the first non-Angel to model the famed piece of lingerie.

Past models who have worn the iconic bra include Gisele Bundchen, Heidi Klum, Adriana Lima, Tyra Banks, Candice Swanepoel, and Ambrosio.

Ambrosio first walked in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in 2000 and was named an official Angel in 2004.

Adriana Lima currently holds the record for the most Victoria's Secret Fashion Show appearances with 21, while Ambrosio follows closely behind with 20.
