A conflict has broken out in the Dogecoin community over the transfer of control of the project's main information resources to a new commercial structure. The trigger for the public confrontation was the renaming of the historical X account of the independent Dogecoin Core developers — it has now come under the management of the company Dogecoin Labs.
According to critics, this step means the de facto centralization of the project. One of the most authoritative members of the community, blogger Mishaboar, publicly accused the leadership of the Dogecoin Foundation of lobbying for the interests of private business. He stated that the official Dogecoin channels are now being used for aggressive marketing (shilling) of commercial products.

Among the main claims are the promotion of custodial solutions, calls to link personal data to wallets, as well as advertising of a cross-chain bridge which, according to Mishaboar, contained critical vulnerabilities at the time of publication.
The position of the opposition is unwavering: an honest business should develop its own media resources from scratch, rather than take over the ready-made channels of a decentralized community.

The situation escalated against the backdrop of a recent major corporate merger. Earlier, the MyDoge wallet, the DogeOS platform, and the Such App payment service merged within the Dogecoin Labs structure with the support of the Dogecoin Foundation and the American public company House of Doge (HODO).
The leadership of Dogecoin Labs, headed by Jordan Jefferson, justifies its actions pragmatically: without a unified commercial infrastructure and mass adoption of payment tools, Dogecoin is doomed to remain a speculative asset dependent on random tweets.

At the same time, the Dogecoin Foundation is trying to maintain neutrality, stating that the development of the Dogecoin Core blockchain itself will remain open, while Labs takes on exclusively market expansion.
As a compromise, independent market participants propose depriving Labs of its monopoly on information and introducing decentralized management of shared accounts with voting on content and regular rotation of moderators.
Nevertheless, the conflict remains open and clearly illustrates the main challenge for DOGE: how to scale the project to the volumes of a global payment system while preserving the status of an independent "people's" startup.
