Betty Bayo's teenage daughter, Sky Victor, has publicly broken her silence over a court ruling in the ongoing custody battle between her late mother's two husbands, gospel preacher Victor Kanyari and businessman Hiram Gitau, known as Tash.

Speaking during an emotional Facebook Live session, Sky appealed directly to Kenyans for support, saying the ruling had left her unable to sleep and her younger brother Danny in tears.
What did Sky say about the custody row?
"I am asking for your help because this is not fair. We went to court, and the ruling was so unfair that I am not comfortable with it," she said.
"I am crying out for help. I have not been able to sleep, and Danny has been crying. This is really not fair."
The dispute began following the death of gospel singer Betty Bayo in November 2025, after she lost her battle with acute myeloid leukaemia.
Betty had separated from Kanyari years earlier and later married Tash, with whom the children had been living at the time of her passing.
After her death, Kanyari raised public concerns about the children's welfare, alleging that school fees had gone unpaid and that Sky had been sent home from school.
He also claimed that Tash had limited his access to his children. The matter eventually moved to the Children's Court, where the children's own preferences were reportedly considered.
Sky had previously been reported as preferring to remain with Tash, while Danny had been said to lean the same way.
Gatundu North MP Elijah Kururia weighed in on the school fees dispute by sharing bank receipts from Woodcreek School, which reportedly showed payments of KSh 110,000 and KSh 400,000, challenging the neglect claims.
What did Tash say about her mother and Tash?
During her live session, Sky pushed back strongly against what she described as Kanyari's attempt to portray Betty as money-driven.
"He is talking about all these things concerning my mum. Even though he is not directly calling her certain names, he is creating that image online that she was only interested in spending his money. If anything, my mum didn't care about money. She left his house with nothing," Sky said.
She went on to credit Tash with pulling the family out of hardship after Betty's separation from Kanyari.
"We left and went to stay in that small house. We struggled and had nothing. We didn't even have seats, but Tash came into our lives and bought us seats and even our TV. He changed our lives."
Sky warned that she was considering going further and revealing more details about the family situation.
"I am going to bring everything out because I am so angry about today's ruling," she said.
"I am trying to be respectful, but at this point, I am really losing my temper and struggling to keep calm."
From the tone of her outburst, it appeared the court had ruled in favour of Kanyari in the custody matter.
