The Dallas Cowboys have become an integral part of the annual Thanksgiving Day celebration for millions of America families, their yearly late-afternoon game as much a mainstay of the holiday tradition as turkey, stuffing, and pecan pie.
Typically one of the most-watched TV broadcasts of the year no matter how the Cowboys are doing in the standings or who they're playing that year, the star-studded halftime show is always a major draw. Recent halftime shows have included Post Malone, the Jonas Brothers, Kenny Chesney, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and Dolly Parton.
For Thanksgiving 2026, Miranda Lambert will join the roster, headlining the 30th Anniversary Red Kettle Kickoff Halftime Show, the Cowboys announced Sunday. The multi-platinum country music star and three-time Grammy Award winner will take the stage at AT&T Stadium during intermission of the Cowboys' Week 12 meeting with the Philadelphia Eagles on Nov. 26.
Lambert is a Lone Star native, born outside Tyler and raised in East Texas, something she says will make this performance even more special.
"There's something special about how music brings people together, especially when it's to spread joy and hope to families who need it most," Lambert said. "The Salvation Army and the Dallas Cowboys have built an incredible tradition with the Red Kettle Kickoff, and I can't wait to be back home in Texas this Thanksgiving to help carry it forward."
The show also serves as the yearly launch of the Salvation Army's holidaytime fundraising campaign, a charitable cause the Cowboys organization has fully supported for decades.
"The Red Kettle Kickoff has become one of the Dallas Cowboys' proudest traditions and one that my family and our entire organization look forward to every Thanksgiving," said Charlotte Jones, chief brand officer and co-owner of the Dallas Cowboys, and former national advisory board chairman for The Salvation Army. "For 30 years, incredible artists have taken our halftime stage to help The Salvation Army bring hope to millions of people in need. We're grateful to Miranda Lambert for joining that legacy and helping us continue this meaningful tradition."
Lambert's latest album was released earlier this month.
