BNB Chain is moving ahead with ambitious plans for a new Layer 1 blockchain, as confirmed by CZ. The new chain will run parallel to the current Binance Smart Chain (BSC) and will utilize BNB for transactions and governance. This strategic move aims to enhance interoperability and scalability within the ecosystem, as detailed in a recent tweet by commentator @WuBlockchain.
Inside the Move
The BNB Chain’s new Layer 1 initiative is designed to operate alongside BSC, ensuring that users can benefit from enhanced features without the need for a separate token. According to updated documents from BNB Chain, the new blockchain will feature block times of approximately 200 milliseconds and pre-confirmation times of around 20 milliseconds. This development comes amidst a backdrop of mixed signals in the broader crypto market, where innovation is crucial for attracting and retaining user engagement.
