Clips from the indoor show, which have since gone viral, show the musician performing in a packed venue bathed in colourful stage lights, with guitars adorning the decor and fans dancing on a packed floor. Samidoh is seen strumming his electric guitar as the crowd sings along enthusiastically.
Samidoh's chant for Sifuna
Partway through his performance, Samidoh pivoted into a Kikuyu line that had little to do with the song at hand. He began repeatedly chanting "Eee ngemi cia Sifuna," a phrase that loosely translates to "the praises or songs of Sifuna," referencing Sifuna by name.
According to a fan who attended the event, Samidoh kept looping the chant, and with each repetition the crowd grew louder, matching his energy until the venue erupted. The on-screen caption on the viral clip reads "Ngemi Cia Sifuna," with a label identifying it as footage from a Samidoh live performance.
The singer offered no political commentary beyond the chant itself, but the gesture was enough to get the audience on its feet and chanting along in full voice.
A familiar move from Samidoh
This is not the first time Samidoh has woven the names of political figures into his Mugithi sets. The performer has a well-established habit of tweaking his lyrics on stage to praise or playfully reference politicians, much to the delight of his fans.
The viral clip has drawn enthusiastic responses from Sifuna's supporters, who took to social media to thank the musician for the shout-out. Others saw the humour in the moment, joking that the senator has now officially earned a place in the Mugithi hall of fame.
