The official YouTube channel of Everland has surpassed 2 million subscribers, a first for South Korea's travel and leisure industry, Samsung C&T's resort division said on the 26th.
Everland began actively engaging with customers through YouTube in 2019. After reaching 1 million subscribers in July 2023, the channel passed the 2 million mark on the 19th. It has posted about 3,600 videos that have drawn a cumulative 830 million views.
Videos featuring the park's pandas helped drive the increase. Content tracking the growth of Fu Bao, Rui Bao, Hui Bao and the recently born Shu Bao, along with their interactions with zookeepers, proved especially popular. The park has recently expanded short-form content aimed at viewers in their teens and 20s.
Everland has also stepped up collaborations with K-pop artists. A video series for the horror theme zone "Blood City," featuring San of ATEEZ, has drawn a cumulative 20 million views across YouTube and Instagram. The channel also offers guide videos for visitors covering seasonal festivals, food and new merchandise.
Through Nov. 1, Everland will award 20,000 Somm Points each to 100 users selected by lottery from those who leave congratulatory comments on an event video posted to the channel.
