Sterling Mahomes' resemblance to her mother Brittany is starting to 'scare' everyone

Sterling Mahomes is growing up quickly, but a recent family snapshot has given fans another reason to look twice.

The daughter of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, is increasingly being compared to her mother, with the resemblance becoming difficult for followers to ignore.

Brittany recently shared a photograph of Sterling on her Instagram Story, offering a glimpse of an everyday moment that soon attracted attention for a different reason.

In the picture, Sterling stands beside a vehicle while holding a bright pink marker and smiling at the camera. Her long blonde hair, lavender headband and cheerful expression immediately stood out.

Dressed in a black sleeveless outfit, the five-year-old looked relaxed as she posed for the picture, but it was the familiar features that made the image particularly memorable for fans of the Mahomes family.

The similarities have prompted renewed discussion about whether Sterling is becoming her mother's little double.

While children naturally develop their own appearances as they grow, the latest image has strengthened the impression that Brittany's daughter is following closely in her footsteps.

The reaction is hardly new. Sterling has been compared to Brittany for years, and older photographs of the former professional soccer player as a child have given fans another way to spot the family resemblance.

Resemblance to Brittany a talking point for years

In February 2023, Brittany shared a throwback photograph of herself as a young girl wearing a soccer uniform, alongside a more recent image.

The comparison gave followers an opportunity to see just how closely Sterling appeared to resemble her mother at a similar age.

The response was enthusiastic, with fans pointing out the similarities in the two photographs. One fan wrote, "OMG! That is Sterling grown up!" Another added, "Sterling was literally copied and pasted."

Those reactions show how the resemblance has become a familiar subject among people who follow the family on social media.

The latest photograph has revived that conversation, with Sterling's long hair and smile once again drawing comparisons to Brittany.

Brittany has also spoken warmly about the role motherhood plays in her life. In an earlier Instagram post, she described her daughter as her "motivation" and discussed the values she hopes to pass on to her.

"I hope to teach Sterling to be the most kind, gentle, loving human on this planet while also being that badass she needs to be when she grows up," she said. "You know success is a little bit different when you have kids involved."

Sterling was born on February 20, 2021, becoming the couple's first child. Patrick and Brittany later welcomed their son, Patrick "Bronze" Lavon, in November 2022, before their youngest daughter, Golden Raye, arrived in January 2025.

The family frequently shares selected moments from their lives away from the football field, allowing followers to watch the children reach new milestones. Sterling has also appeared at important family occasions, including her parents' wedding, where she served as a flower girl.

For Patrick, who has established himself as one of the NFL's most recognizable quarterbacks, family life provides a different side to his public profile.

Brittany, meanwhile, has developed her own career and business interests, including her involvement with the Kansas City Current of the National Women's Soccer League.

As Sterling gets older, the comparisons with her mother are likely to continue whenever new photographs appear online.

Whether her features change over time remains to be seen, but the latest snapshot has once again convinced many fans that Brittany may have a miniature lookalike growing up right in front of her.
