Home electrical safety is something many people tend to overlook until an electrical fault or accident occurs. However, identifying potential hazards early and taking the necessary precautions can help prevent serious electrical accidents. Recognising the importance of this, KEVILTON’s ‘Adhi Arakshawe Mehewara’ initiative continues to make a meaningful contribution to household safety by raising awareness and helping families create safer living environments.
Going beyond conventional business objectives, the initiative reflects KEVILTON’s commitment to making a positive difference in people’s lives. At its heart is a simple yet important belief: a safe home provides families with greater peace of mind.
A Humanitarian Initiative Supporting Families Affected by Cyclone Ditwah
KEVILTON launched the ‘Adhi Arakshawe Mehewara’ initiative to support families affected by property damage caused by Cyclone Ditwah in the previous year, as they worked to rebuild their lives.
Rebuilding a home after a natural disaster involves more than restoring walls and roofs. It also means ensuring that the home is safe for the people who live in it. Among the essential considerations in this process is the safety of the household electrical system, which can pose significant risks if faults go undetected.
Recognising this need, KEVILTON introduced the initiative with a focus on identifying potential electrical hazards before they lead to accidents. Rather than responding only after an incident occurs, the programme emphasises the importance of prevention, awareness and proactive safety measures.
Electrical Safety Inspections in Nittambuwa
Continuing this humanitarian effort, another phase of the ‘Adhi Arakshawe Mehewara’ initiative was carried out on 24 August 2026, focusing on houses in the Nittambuwa area.
The programme involved preliminary inspections of the electrical systems in these homes, with the aim of identifying existing issues and providing the necessary guidance to help prevent electrical accidents.
During the initiative, the electrical systems were examined to identify potential problems, while residents were given safety awareness guidance on preventing electrical hazards before they result in serious incidents.
Such inspections are important because electrical faults are not always visible during everyday use. Even when lights, switches and electrical appliances appear to function normally, this does not necessarily mean that the entire electrical system is safe.
By identifying potential problems and raising awareness of electrical safety, the programme highlights the importance of taking preventive action to protect households and their occupants.
Why Electrical Safety Must Be a Priority
A home is a place where families come together to live, relax and create lasting memories. Ensuring that it remains a safe environment is essential, and electrical safety is a key part of that responsibility.
Ignoring electrical faults can expose households to unnecessary risks. Regular inspections by qualified electricians, prompt attention to electrical problems and greater awareness of safe electrical practices can all help reduce potential hazards.
Taking preventive action before an accident occurs is far better than dealing with its consequences afterwards. This principle lies at the heart of KEVILTON’s ‘Adhi Arakshawe Mehewara’ initiative.
By focusing on early identification, safety awareness and prevention, the programme reinforces an important message: protecting a home means protecting the people who live in it.
A Continued Commitment to Safer Homes
KEVILTON’s ‘Adhi Arakshawe Mehewara’ is more than an electrical inspection programme. It represents a humanitarian commitment to the safety, well-being and peace of mind of families.
Launched to support communities affected by Cyclone Ditwah, the initiative continues to demonstrate the importance of looking beyond immediate recovery and addressing the safety needs of families as they rebuild their lives.
A safe home is defined not only by its walls and roof, but also by the security and well-being of the people within it. Paying attention to electrical safety, identifying potential hazards early and taking the appropriate preventive measures are essential steps towards creating a safer living environment for every family.
Through its ‘Adhi Arakshawe Mehewara’ initiative, KEVILTON continues to champion a proactive approach to home electrical safety, reaffirming its commitment to helping families enjoy safer homes and greater peace of mind.
